Oyster harvest resumes today

This morning, DMR reopens three areas for harvesting oysters. Those areas are: Area I “B” Conditionally Approved Waters – includes St. Joseph’s (St. Joe’s) Reef. DEQ lifts Bay beach closure

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality just lifted a beach closure for a section of beach in Bay St. Louis that was issued Aug. 11. The closure extended from Carroll Avenue to Julia Street. Water samples show the area is back to acceptable bacteria levels. To receive beach advisories directly, send an email to [email protected]
