It’s not the cold, it’s the clichés

Goodness, this weather has everybody breathless with anticipation. So far the worst part of the winter storm “situation” is the media’s reliance on clichés to describe it. Did I really hear someone say “the wrath of Old Man Winter” or has my brain iced over?

Hold it! $600K bathroom still closed

Maybe whatever happened to cause the closing of the $600,000 bathroom wasn’t so minor after all. The facility has “closed” signs on the stairs and ramp this morning and nobody was working to fix the problem. Stay tuned.

What a difference

The sunshine looks especially good today after Friday’s sleet and rain, doesn’t it? As luck would have it, a search for glue (don’t ask) turned into a junk drawer cleanup project which led to the discovery of seed packets left over from last year. I’m taking that as a hopeful sign of something spring related.

It’s official. The prolonged outage that Mediacom customers suffered through – including the Saints playoff game blackout – was worth 99 cents.
