Bay beach closure lifted

The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality lifted a beach closure Wednesday that had been issued July 18 for a segment of beach in Bay St. Louis from the Ramoneda box culvert to Ballentine.
MDEQ advises that people can now engage in water contact such as swimming or wading and can consume fish or anything else taken from these waters. Water samples taken during the last few days returned results below the levels of concern.
There are no other closures or advisories in effect across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
