Last chance to eat at C&C Farm to Fork on Main Street

This weekend is your last chance to eat at C&C Farm to Fork on Main Street. Chef David Dickensauge is moving back to Gulfport to open a smaller restaurant in the old 27th Avenue Bistro location.

Meantime, he’ll be cooking at Farm to Fork Thursday, Friday and Saturday before that restaurant closes its doors.

“I needed a new start to do my own thing,” he said. The new restaurant will open the second week in January with a chef-driven menu. “I’ll still be doing farm to table but it will be a smaller place with an open kitchen vibe.” The new restaurant will serve lunch and dinner. He said downtown Gulfport has plenty of foot traffic at lunch and is near the aquarium now under construction.

Dickensauge switched his C&C Italian Grill to Farm to Table last September after opening a year earlier at 111 Main St.

Dickensauge will still have a presence in Old Town. His long-awaited Ugly Carrot is set to open in mid-January in Century Hall, he said. The original opening was supposed to be in August. The venue will serve local produce and organic juices.

The chef said he’s not leaving Bay St. Louis forever. “I love the Bay and the people and have a lot of great customers,” he said. “I just wanted a smaller venue where I can be more hands on.”
