Bay St. Louis issued three building permits last week for a total valuation of $558,886 and fees of $4,020. All three projects were residential: new houses on Camellia Drive and Eighth Street and a boathouse on Virginia Street.

In other news, the Bay City Council voted yesterday to allow the new owners of 508 Hancock to demolish the dilapidated cinderblock building that used to house Ladner’s seafood market. The unanimous council vote overturned the Historic Preservation Commission’s earlier decision.
