Shrimp boats: good sign?

Shrimp boat off Washington Street this morning. Several were seen this morning and Thursday.

Did you see the shrimp boats working the offshore waters yesterday and this morning? Let’s hope the shrimpers are having good luck out there.

In case you’re wondering about the water quality, and you should be, the state Department of Marine Resources says it’s continuing to test water and fish samples to make sure the seafood is safe in Mississippi waters. The department is advising fishermen to avoid catching seafood in waters where algae is present. According to DMR, “recreational and commercial fishing offshore in Mississippi waters remains unaffected by the algal bloom, and those catches are safe for consumption.”

Meantime, the $600,000 bathroom was out of order this morning.

Bad sign.
