Building permits: $2 million in houses

Here’s your weekly building permit recap for the week of Aug. 19-23 to distract you for a moment from this rainy Monday.

Hancock County’s building department issued seven permits for a whooping total value of $1,157,396 and fees of $4,589. All the permits were for residential projects: new houses on J.C. Ladner Road, Rocky Hill Dedeaux Road, Road 310 and Firetower Road. Other projects were a house remodel on Pontiac Road, a storage shed on Road 220 and a new porch on East River Drive.

Bay St. Louis issued permits for six projects with a total value of $953,875 and fees of $7,892. All projects were residential: two new houses on North Beach, and one each on Beverly Drive and Chapel Hill. 

Miscellaneous residential building permits were for a bulkhead/pier on Mindano and a bulkhead/pier and boathouse on Good Street.
