The Hancock Community Quilt is a community based art project that explores the history, culture and stories of Hancock County using 360-degree video. The project explores and documents what is special, vital and difficult about living in Hancock County. The project is sponsored by the Center for Art & Public Exchange and the Mississippi Museum of Art in partnership with The Arts, Hancock County. 

You are invited to participate in a video interview to tell your stories about Hancock County during a series of community interview days. The first session will take place in the Bay St. Louis Public Library community room on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The second session will be held in the Kiln Public Library community room on Friday, Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

The Center for Art & Public Exchange’s purpose is to use original artworks, exhibitions, programs, and engagements with artists to increase understanding and inspire new narratives in contemporary Mississippi. CAPE is supported by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. 

The artist for the quilt project is Mark Geil, an associate professor of Art in the Department of Art and Theatre at Jackson State University where he teaches photography and portfolio development.
