BSL Unplugged Concert Series kicks off in December

BAY ST. LOUIS BSL Unplugged, a new concert series, will kick off Dec 13 with singer/songwriter Will Kimbrough making his first appearance in the Bay.

Kimbrough is a frequent collaborator of Jimmy Buffett and has toured with Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, John Prine, Billy Joe Shavers and Mavis Staples.

The concert will be held in an exciting new venue, the Longfellow Civic Center atop the Court Street parking facility.

The series is a production of Silver Slipper Casino and Darden Music and will feature national artists performing in the small (240 capacity) civic center located just off the beach in Old Town.

David Baria, owner of Darden Music, said the concerts will give fans a unique chance to hear some great musicians like Kimbrough and Mac McAnally, another Buffett collaborator who performed at the civic center in September. “We are thrilled to have this first show packaged and ready to go. Hopefully it will be successful enough that we can do several more,” Baria said.

Tickets are $20 and are available at the Silver Slipper and at the door. Visit the BSL Unplugged Facebook page for updates and a chance to win a pair of tickets.
