Building permits top $2 million

Last week (Oct. 14-18) was a busy one for building permits in Hancock County and Bay St. Louis. Fourteen permits were issued with a combined value of $2,040,900 and fees totaling $13,225.

Bay St. Louis had eight permitted projects for a total value of $1,273,298 and fees of $10,014. All the permits were residential and half were for houses on Carre Court. Others were for a carport/garage on Main Street, a house on Iowa Street, a residential remodel on Carroll Avenue and a house on Bayou View Drive.

Hancock County’s six permits totaled $767,602 with fees of $3,211. All permits were residential: a house on Firetower Road, a metal building with living area on Hugh Lee Road, renovation of a house on Road 540, an addition to a shed on Lakeshore Road, a new storage building on Wendell Ladner Road and the addition of living area and a porch to an existing house.
