  1. …this is so bad! It looks bad and reflects poorly on EVERYONE involved. Can we not do better?

  2. Concerning closing the beaches.

I believe that when it comes to a pandemic, we need to heed the advice of the professionals as closely as possible. Anyone claiming to know more that them is an idiot.

I also believe that we can still incorporate a little common sense into our precautions based on their recommendations. We are very fortunate to live in such a great and unique area with our beaches and the ability to get out in a boat to enjoy the miles of water where you can go for days and not interact with other people. Also, I can’t see how stopping someone from wade fishing is going to help prevent the spread of the virus.

I do not have any problem with the beaches being closed to large groups but not to less than 10 people. Don’t take away the only stress relief and joy for some folks because of the ignorance of others. Punish those who are breaking the rules. Some families have that many people in them. Maybe we should tweak the rule a little to say the beaches are closed to groups of 10 or more and fines will be issued. Groups must stay 100 feet apart, or something to that affect.

That way, people who want to walk or wade-fish or just relax on the beach, alone or with their partner, won’t have to be worried.

After all, it is in the best interest of the people for the people to have some stress outlet or we may see the effects of mental illness caused by stress.

I for one, find fishing and walking on the beach the ultimate stress reliever.

    Just a selfish thought.

    • I agree with you wholeheartedly, without access to the beloved miles of beach I feel very bereft. I understand the groups that gather are a potential problem, however a sole walker or two cannot pose a threat to another person’s health. Walking on miles of concrete doesn’t cut if for me, and feel that ones chances of closer contact are greatly increased by being on the bike/walkways which are narrow in comparison to the shoreline.

      I second your selfish thought!!
