Zeta cleanup starts next week!

Bay St. Louis is expected to award a contract today to Ashbritt Inc. to remove debris left by Hurricane Zeta. Thirteen companies submitted bids for the removal and disposal work. The City Council voted 6-0 yesterday to hire Ashbritt for the cleanup, which is expected to begin early next week and be completed in 30 to 45 days.

Council members at last night’s meeting wore a combination of ball caps and masks. Here’s the rundown:

Cap only: DeSalvo and Smith.

Mask only: Hoffman and Reed.

Neither: Knoblock.

Both: Seal.

Seal for the win!

  1. What was the significance of the ball caps? And hats like that should not be worn inside: bad manners. And shame on the council members not wearing masks. No wonder Covid cases in Mississippi are rising.
