Cable disconnect: Can I get a credit?

During this weekend’s most unfortunate cable outage, I had a little chat with Hannah at Mediacom. Here’s the part about getting a credit. Has ANYONE ever gotten a credit after a service outage?

Hannah: I have checked and it is showing an on-going outage in your area affecting all services. We have our team working on it right now to make sure we’ll have our service back the soonest possible time.

Hannah: Rest assured, the outage will be credited on the account and will reflect on the next billing cycle.

Lisa Monti: That will be the first time that happens. This is an ongoing problem. I am looking for other service to replace Mediacom but look forward to the very first credit I have ever gotten.

Hannah: We do apologize for this matter, Lisa.

As soon as I get that credit Hannah promised me, I’ll write about it. Maybe I’ll use it to buy an antenna.
