Media reports out of New Orleans say that Jesmyn Ward of DeLisle, winner of the 2011 National Book Award for her novel Salvage the Bones, will join Tulane University’s Department of English faculty July 1.

She is a professor of creative writing at the University of South Alabama and previously taught at UNO. Her memoir, Men We Reaped, also received much acclaim.
