Eric Lindell Bio 2014

Eric Lindell performs music that is as at home on your front porch on a summer evening as it is in a hot sweaty club on a Saturday night. It is southern soul music, infused with R&B and a touch of New Orleans funk. It is blues music, glazed with a taste of country. It is simple, heartfelt song writing; melodic guitar solos and an energized live performance.

Presently his band’s rhythm section is comprised of Myles Weeks on upright bass and Will McMains on drums, which have been with Eric for over three years, making their live performances incredibly tight and intuitive. Both players are young, but have a swing feel of much more seasoned musicians.

Eric has been recording and performing his brand of Americana music for over 20 years. As NOLA’s WWOZ DJ Black Mold has said, “You can tell within the first few seconds of a Lindell tune who it is…which many artists spend a lifetime trying to achieve.” Over the past few years, Lindell has been touring off and on with Funderburgh, one the most respected blues guitarists alive, known for his work with his own band, The Rockets. The result is pure,
honest American roots music at its finest.
