Help create Waveland City Hall mosaic

The City of Waveland will replace the City Hall Mosaic on the wall in front of the new complex on Coleman Avenue. The original 1997 mosaic, created by residents, was destroyed by Katrina.

Elizabeth Veglia, the project director of the first mosaic, will lead the community in creating the new one. The design will include the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and other iconic images.

In a series of workshops starting Tuesday, Sept. 16, Veglia will teach participants how to create their own small design elements in tile that will be included in the mosaic.

Workshops will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. – noon, Tuesday 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Waveland’s Ground Zero Museum, 335 Coleman Ave.

Call Elizabeth Veglia at 228-304-1333 or email [email protected] for information or to register for a workshop (limit 12 per workshop).
