Rickey’s Off the Tracks is opening next month in Bay St. Louis!

The new restaurant at 102 Blaize Ave. will be in the historic Al Kingston Barber Shop building across from the duck pond in the Depot District. Sloppy Dogs, the previous tenant, has moved to Waveland.

Owners Rickey Peters and Kevin Jordan are partners in the venture, which will be serving food under a tent at the new location during next weekend’s big Cruisin’ the Coast event.

Peters was an owner of the original Rickey’s on Coleman Avenue in Waveland until Katrina and a second location in the Bay behind Burger King. It closed March 22.

The new Rickey’s will be fully open by the end of October, serving lunch Monday through Saturday, then dinner will be added on Thursday and Friday.

Rickey’s menu will include his signature sandwiches plus gumbo, crawfish etouffee, shrimp remoulade, Cajun boudin, alligator sausage, Creole jambalaya, Mojo nachos and Mardi Gras slaw.

Peters and Jordan plan to add an outdoor kitchen and a covered seating area on the side of the restaurant.

But wait, there’s more for fans of Rickey’s. Peters and Jordan are working on plans for a full-scale Rickey’s to open on the beach in Waveland.

Stay tuned.
