City Council recap: dumpsters & fire trucks

Bay St. Louis City Council meetings can be better than watching television, but last night’s was like a bad rerun.

As expected, the downtown dumpster debate continued. Council members McDonald and Favre are holding a meeting today (Wednesday) with restaurant owners to try to figure out some solution to the messy controversy.

During the discussion, Councilman Falgout made a motion “to get out of the garbage business.” Councilman Boudin, who is himself in the waste business, seconded. Shortly afterwards, the motion was withdrawn. To be continued.

And the rumored unmanned fire station on 603 that Falgout said went viral on social media? That was apparently caused by an ill-worded sign placed in the window of the station while some fire trucks were in for repair. The mayor said they are back in action.
