Having lost my voice last evening, it’s been a quiet start to the New Year for me. I can report, or type anyway, three new restaurants now open with the blessing of the state Health Department.

On a Roll Sushi at 206 Jeff Davis Ave. Suite 1 in Long Beach is owned by Whitney Sartin.
The menu features edamame and dumplings among the appetizers plus spicy tuna and salmon hand rolls, nigiri/sashimi choices, traditional rolls and specialty rolls like the Long Beach Roll featuring shrimp tempura and cream cheese topped with boiled shrimp. There are also teriyaki and tempura dinner entrees and a kid’s menu. Details: 214-5368.

O.G.’s Mini Mart at 1417 28th St. in Gulfport sells assorted sliced deli meats and cheeses, deli sandwiches, panini, soup, gumbo and pizza. David Capuria is the owner.

And a new Hardee’s is open at 9310 Highway 49 in Gulfport.
