Oyster Council public meeting tonight in the Bay

The Governor’s Oyster Council on Restoration and Resiliency will hold public meetings this week in each of the three coastal counties.

Today’s meeting will be in the Bay St. Louis Community Hall at 301 Blaize Ave. from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

There will be a presentation about the Oyster Council at the beginning of each meeting given by Jamie Miller, executive director of the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources. After that, the public will be able to make comments and suggestions.

The meeting Tuesday will be at the MDMR Auditorium, Bolton Building, 1141 Bayview Ave., Biloxi. Wednesday’s meeting will be in Gautier City Hall, 3330 U.S. 90, Gautier. Those meetings will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The council’s recommendations will be put in a report that will be given to Gov. Phil Bryant in early June.
