Island View Casino Resort in Gulfport promises a smokin’ good time this weekend with the 2nd Annual ’Que at the View.

The outdoor event will feature a festival of food, drinks, live entertainment in conjunction with a Kansas City Barbeque Society-sanctioned competition.

On Friday (April 3) 45 teams will compete for the state KCBS title and more than $15,000 in cash and prizes. You can tour the competition and watch the teams in action on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission is complimentary.

On Saturday (April 4) beginning at noon, enjoy the food festival featuring barbecue-style selections, sides, boiled crawfish and a beer garden with a variety of craft beers. The food and beverage items will be priced separately.

The event will conclude with the After ’Que Party featuring Da Throwback Band performing hits from the ’70s and ‘80s in the resort’s View Showroom starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased through TicketMaster.com or at the door. Limited seating is available and guests must be 21 or older.
