Bay Council recap

IMG_7051Last night’s Bay Council meeting was long on agenda, short on action, at least in the first two hours.

Three new appointees were named to the Historic Preservation Commission (Al Lawson, Jason Bigelow and Pat Robinson); and the Commission’s impressive, one-of-a-kind website (www.HistoricBSL.com) was unveiled, as was the Share the Road program to improve bike and pedestrian safety.

There was an extended discussion about a recurring fencing issue at a property in the Historic District. The vacation rental list of recommendations is in the hands of Planning & Zoning; public hearing to follow. The air space rental matter is in the hands of Secretary of State Hosemann. And speaking of fences, that vacant service station on the Service Road now has orange fencing to keep it from being used as a parking lot.
