The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality issued a water contact advisory Thursday for the sampling station at Buccaneer State Park Beach, 100 yards from the sign to State Park Road.

The segment of beach isn’t closed but DEQ says there may be an increased risk of illness from high bacteria levels if you swim in the area.
