Amberjack season closing, red drum opening

The recreational fishing season for Greater Amberjack will close in Mississippi territorial waters at 12:01 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28.

The commercial fishing season for Red Drum will open in Mississippi waters at 12:01 a.m. Oct. 1 and close when the quota is met.

That’s the word this morning from the Department of Marine Resources.

Meanwhile, here’s a large flounder that caught my eye Saturday morning.
