What a great way to start Thanksgiving Day, watching these folks in the annual Fit First Turkey Trot that benefits the Friends of the Animal Shelter. (Apologies for my barking dog.)

Everybody was in a great mood, smiling and waving, running, trotting and strolling on by. By my count there were: half a dozen or so adults and 2 kids wearing turkey hats, a handful of runners wearing feather headdresses, one 3-legged dog and a man in a skirt (?).

As a bonus, on my morning walk, I saw a guy on a skateboard being pulled by a big, black dog on a leash. What a neighborhood, huh?
