BAY ST. LOUIS Have you seen this fencing on the beach at Washington Street and wondered why it’s there? The county’s contractors are doing work to improve drainage and the federal wildlife folks required the fencing to discourage turtles from laying eggs in the construction area.
Workers check every morning to make sure there are no turtles so that the project can proceed.
