Watch for a groundbreaking ceremony later this month for Front Street Inn condos at North Beach Blvd. between Trapani’s and the old A&G Theater.

Developer Chet LeBlanc’s four-story development will have nine units on the top three floors and retail space on the first floor. That’s where Thomas Genin  of The Blind Tiger will open two businesses: a raw bar on one side and a mini market/coffee shop “gathering place” on the other.

Construction will take 10 to 12 months, and the project is set for completion next summer.

Six of the condos have been sold to buyers locally, in Hattiesburg, Ohio and Louisiana.

The condo has been in the works for 11 years. Ground was broken two weeks before Katrina in 2005 and then progress was delayed again by the recession a few years later.
