3-2-1: Second Saturday embraces space

Old Town Merchants have a space theme – Embrace Space – going today for Second Saturday in honor of Hancock County-based Stennis Space Center and Infinity Science Center.  Here’s some of what’s planned:

Infinity Science Center will have a booth at California Drawstrings (216 Main) with tables for children to build rockets.

A children’s space costume contest will be held at 111 Main Shops at 4:30 p.m. with prizes and “Space” punch and other goodies.

A space caftan fashion show with “Designs of the Space Future” will be hosted at Smith & Lens (106 South Second).  The most beautiful space caftan will be announced at 6:30 p.m.

The Mockingbird (110 South Second) will host a table for children to draw their vision of space on a giant banner from 4 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. The banner will be displayed all day Sunday.

Various shops will be showing old space movies and decorate with a space theme. And some shops will offer discounts to Stennis & Infinity employees with IDs.

This month’s “Hot Spot” businesses are Antique Maison (200 Main) and Gourmet Galley (111 Main). Stop by both of these favorites for music and more.
