P&Z recap: Fais do no

Bay St. Louis Planning and Zoning Commissioners said no to Billy Conner Jr.’s application for a special exception to the zoning ordinance to open a lounge in the Depot District. Plans include blues, jazz and Cajun music in the evening hours. Neighbors objected to potentially more noise and other public nuisance problems in the area.

Commissioners also voted down the application by WL Holdings of Miss, LLC to develop a 25-lot subdivision on Dunbar Avenue between Genin Street and DeMontluzin Avenue. Neighbors objected to the number of houses in the development and said the area has had major drainage problems for many years. Some passed around photos of flooded yards and streets. By an unfortunate coincidence, the project was named Maison du Lac, or Lake House.
