CASA Gala kicks off Carnival this weekend

CASA of Hancock County will hold its 6th Annual Krewe of CASA Mardi Gras Gala on Saturday (Jan. 28). The fundraiser will be held at the Bay St. Louis Community Center at 301 Blaize Avenue. The event kicks off the Carnival season and attendees come from the Gulf Coast and even from New Orleans.

Each year CASA recognizes a CASA advocate and a community supporter to reign over the festivities as King and Queen. The 2017 King is Myron Labat Sr. and the Queen is Youth Court Judge Elise Epperson Deano.

Attendees will enjoy dinner by Jimmie Ladner and the CASA Cooks. The Dave Mayley Band will open before Category Six takes the stage as the main act. During the evening attendees can bid on a variety of coastal artwork and other items donated by local merchants.

CASA of Hancock County is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that utilizes trained community members to advocate for children who through no fault of their own are involved in the complex and overburdened child welfare and youth court systems.

General admission tickets will be sold at the door for $40. The ticket includes dinner, entertainment and a great time!
