Here’s your building permit report for the week of May 1 – May 8:
In Bay St. Louis, permits were issued for five projects valued at $719,786 and a total of $4,452 in fees.
The one commercial permit was for Corks & Cleaver Italian Bistro at 111 Main St. The value for the remodeling was $150,000 with fees of $900.
The residential permits were for three new single family houses and one shed.
In Hancock County, four permits were issued for a total value of $504,376 and total value of $2,319.
The one commercial permit was for remodeling inside Silver Slipper Casino for a new oyster bar. Value was $150,000 and fees of $761.
Resident permits were for a barn and two new houses.
It almost looks as if the Bay building department goes a long way towards funding itself. What would be the use of privatizing it?
