Roll-Royce ups its investment at Stennis

STENNIS SPACE CENTER It was chamber of commerce weather, though a tad on the hot side, so Rolls-Royce executive Jim Guyette declared it a “jacket-off day” at this morning’s ribbon-cutting for the company’s new jet engine test stand. Up on stage with Guyette, Biloxi astronaut Fred Haise and MDA’s chief Brent Christensen dutifully and probably thankfully removed their jackets.

The $50 million investment in the second test stand will create 35 jobs.

Rolls-Royce also unveiled a jet engine it donated to Infinity Science Center today.
