Busy week for building permits: values top $2.5 million

Hancock County issued six permits during the week of March 18-22 totaling $1,126,277 in value and $4,411 in permit fees.

Two permits were for commercial projects:

  • New construction of two parking bays with picnic pavilions at Lafitte Drive in Waveland and in Lakeshore. The value of the permit was $386,200 with fees of $1,319. The owner is Hancock County and the contractor is Floore Industrial Contractors.
  • Coast Electric Power Association is adding reinforcements to the top section of an existing tower at 18020 Highway 603. The fee was $26; no value was listed.

The residential permits were for construction of a house on Theo Bilbo Road; a new house on Rocky Hill Dedeaux Road; a new house on Jordan Bluff Drive; and a metal storage building on Cuevas Road.

Bay St. Louis issued permits last week for nine projects totaling $1,446,315 in value and $11,506 in fees.

All projects were residential: a roof on St. Charles St.; land disturbance on Helen Drive; a new house on Eighth Street; a roof on Main Street; land disturbance on Hancock Street; a new house on Ulman Avenue; a residential remodel on Ulman; and two new houses on Dunbar Court.
