Bay Council recap

  • Nikki Moon reported in her quarterly tourism update that Bay St. Louis is getting loads of publicity thanks to articles in several publications, including Southern Living and Mississippi Magazine as well as some prominent online features.
  • Mike Rosato and the city want to terminate the mutual Harbor Fest agreement. Termination to be finalized at the Oct. 18 meeting. Also moved to Oct. 18: report on audit deficiencies, management of rental buildings.
  • Council voted 6-0 to ratify Sissy Gonzales as city clerk and adopted (6-0) a 12 percent fee increase for building permits. They also ratified Mayor Fillingame’s appointments of Anthony Pace to the Planning and Zoning Commission and Christina Richardson to the Civil Service Commission.
  • P&Z: The council voted 6-0 to approve the Thomas Randle/Ann Poche application and variance for 504 Hancock St. The Carroll Avenue LLC application was tabled by P&Z  until next month’s meeting.
