Weekly building permit report

Your building permit report for Oct. 9-13:

The Hancock County Building Department issued nine permits totaling $400,171 in value and $2,380 in fees.

Four permits were for commercial projects. Owner James Alison is converting an existing strip mall building into four single extended stay motel rooms. at 16331 Mississippi 603. Value is $50,000 with fees of $411.

Owner Kevin Dessell is building a 5,700- square-foot steel building at 5232 U.S. 90. Value is $84,685 and fees of $550. The contractor is John Quinnelly.

Owner David Dreher’s permit is for the build-out of two existing suites at 16940 Kapalama Road for a dance studio. Permit value is $20,000 with fees of $261. Dreher also got a commercial permit to install a marquee sign for the strip mall on Kapalama valued at $2,000 with fees of $21.

The residential permits were for a new home on Schoenfeld Road, completion of two houses previously permitted on Dormac Street, the addition of a lean-to on a garage and moving an existing house to a new location on Deerwood Road.
