Tarts and Tramps Ball to benefit The Arts, Hancock County

BAY ST. LOUIS The Arts, Hancock County is going back to the 1920s to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

The Tarts and Tramps Ball is Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. at the 100 Men Hall.

Attendees are encouraged to costume appropriately to harken back to a ‘20s-style vaudeville costume ball.

The evening will feature food by the Silver Slipper Casino, a cash bar and a vaudeville-style variety show. Entertainment includes Rochelle Harper’s Sista Jazz, Ivory Bill, 10 North Frederick, Kat and Ellis and more. The evening will finish with a parody of a burlesque number from the movie “Chicago,” performed by local artists and featuring a surprise star. Organizers promise more surprises throughout the evening.

Tickets for the benefit are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Advance tickets are available at Bay Books (131 Main St.), The French Potager (213 Main St.), The Mockingbird Café (110 S. All proceeds support The Arts various programs including gallery openings, the Imagination Station for children and the annual Arts Alive, which will take place March 22, 2014.
