Beach walkers/parkers: beware of break-ins

A fellow beach walker just told me that when she returned to her car at Washington Street yesterday morning, she found that someone had broken in and stolen her purse.

The thief got more than $100, her IDs, credit cards and checkbook. This was at 7:30 in the morning in the parking lot between the $600,000 bathroom and the little pavilion. It’s a popular spot for many people who park and then walk along the beach. Let’s hope it doesn’t get to popular with criminals.
