Celebrate Dog Days of Summer at Second Saturday in the Bay

Dog DaysBAY ST. LOUIS Second Saturday is always a fun time in Old Town but the Aug. 10 Second Saturday Artwalk is a special one to help the Hancock Animal Shelter.

From 4 to 8 p.m. you can stroll Old Town visiting galleries, boutiques and restaurants. Don’t miss this month’s two Hot Spots: Social Chair (201 Main Street), named Best Gift Shop by Mississippi Magazine readers, and Gabbie’s Local Lounge at 119 Main Street.

Special Dog Days of Summer activities include a home tour, a bake sale, a stuffed animal costume contest and merchant specials to benefit Friends of the Animal Shelter, a popular animal welfare organization.

Friends helps with low-cost spay and neuter programs, reduced fee adoptions, rabies and microchip clinics.

Six of the coolest cottages and houses in town will be on the home tour between 4 and 6 p.m.

  1. Oh, it’s STUFFED animals which will appear in costume. I was hoping we might see Boudreaux in something smart and stylish.
